Gokce Erem
Violin Teacher
Hailing from Istanbul, Turkey, violinist Alev Gökҫe Erem studied music at Istanbul University State Conservatory and was accepted to study violin with Venyamin Warshavsky. Gökҫe received her Master of Music degree, cum laude, from Istanbul University State Conservatory in June 2011. She graduated from New York University - Steinhardt School in May 2014, studying with Professor Kikuei Ikeda, with a scholarship in the performance program for an Advanced Certificate Diploma. She concertizes with the South Florida Symphony Orchestra as Principal Second Violin, Chelsea Symphony Orchestra, Kamerata NY, Ensemble 212, New York Chamber Players, and Metro Chamber Orchestra. She has performed with Tony-award-winner John Lloyd Young (“Jersey Boys”) at Café Carlyle where she played in a series of concerts with musician/producer Tommy Faragher. She has performed in National Television (NBC) shows such as ‘Saturday Night Live’ and ‘Late Night with Jimmy Fallon', and substitutes in Broadway shows, and currently working on the show, “Hamilton”. She is the second violinist with her newly formed quartet, Gaia Quartet. In her free time she enjoys traveling, riding horses, playing PS 4, and cooking!
